CD Review Black Veil Brides - Wretched and Divine : The Story of The Wild Ones

Black Veil Brides (BVB) has released a follow up to the full length "Set The World On Fire" with a bountiful array of tracks. The release when listening to it comes across as an anthem as well as a concept release. Pretty interesting with the additional shortened tracks towards the end of the CD. What to expect in this one? This one has a really nice production to compliment the vocals. Giving this CD a run through a few times I have noticed that Andy has really stepped up his vocals in every track and the band has completely jelled around him. BVB has brought it all together in which producer John Feldman (the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Panic! at the Disco, Fozy Shazam, Good Charlotte) really was able to capture the essence of what each member was able to produce. "Wretched and Divide" offers fans a different type of BVB. What I mean is that this set of artists are maturing musicians in which the styles are moving to a more melodic and concise vibe. The guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx really meld into something special. This is one of the trademark sounds of BVB.

Some of the standout track to check out: "Wretched and Divine" (trademark BVB sound and melody with extremely catchy hooks and strong chorus), "Devil's Choir" this one has a nice melodic dualing guitars that pose as the strong point. "Shadows Die" is a strong BVB track. Biersack gets to glow in this one as well as the whole band.

Overall: If you are a fan of Black Veil Brides you will love this one. If you are new to the band this one may make you hesitate a little, just because of the many F.E.A.R. Transmission clips inserted. I know they were going for a "feeling and imagery" but this may damper some new listeners. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this release thoroughly and understand what they were going for, plus I have a history with the band so I am a bit biased. So if you are looking for something new to start the year off with and haven't had the chance to catch any new BVB than snag this one up. Also, if you want to see a great live performance than this is a no-doubter to see when they come to your town.
