Captain Squeegee: Horn Rock Aficionado's

Captain Squeegee stole the show Friday night at Club 910 Live in Tempe. The seven-piece band crammed enough gear on stage (which was no bigger than a boxing ring) to furnish an entire guitar center. The glaring difference between these boys and a group of kids inside a guitar center is that the members of Captain Squeegee can actually play. They are musicians. The horn-rock band executed their set with precision, energy and a bit of sarcasm.

The only disappointing part of their set was when the two future “Rock of Love” contestants standing front row went to the bathroom only to be replaced by Kathy Bates stunt double…you know…assuming she ever does stunts. Their set was highlighted by, “Be Courteous” their newest song, which they wrote for Phoenix’s Valley Metro. The song informs patrons how to properly use the public transit system. Listen, it’s tough work writing a song as it is, but to write a song about public transit and make it catchy enough to be good? That’s talent.
