Lovely restaurant, impeccable service, great food, although it's quite pricey. I've done a number of dining reviews for various publications, mainly focusing on Culver City, and have enjoyed most of my culinary experiences. Capo was no exception. Food is quite good, nice subtle flavors, and I recall Bruce Marder (owner) from my waitressing days working on Main St. in Santa Monica many years ago.
It was my partner's birthday, and cause for celebration, despite the car battery dying on our way to the restaurant. Thankfully, they held the table for us. Nice touch...
Octopus and eggplant appetizers were divine. My white corn ravioli with truffles was lovely.
Steak was way undercooked. We sent it back, but it was still too rare. That was my only complaint, and for $60 for steak, I really didn't expect to be disappointed.
If money is no object, you won't mind the prices. But I'm fairly value-conscious and I've had great food that is on par with Capo for less money. Would love to try some other dishes if there is an opportunity.
Any restaurant that's been around for over 15 years must be doing something right.
