That answer is an emphatic yes. If the Electric Hellfire Club and KMFDM had a love child and that love child punched Al Jorgensen in the face, it still would not compare to Caustic’s new album The Golden Vagina of Fame and Profit. This is the first album by Caustic to be released on famed industrial label Metropolis, and it steps up and delivers. Complete with eleven tracks of campy, tongue-in-cheek aggression, this album is sure to be the mainstay of music collections for quite some time. The Golden Vagina of Fame and Profit is set to be released April 12, 2011. Be sure to order your copy from www.Metropolis-records.com
The opening track “666 in the Crucifix” administers a beating of electronic noise reminiscent of Birmingham 6 delivered in the only way Caustic can: twisted, mangled, ran over and re-mastered. The lyrics in this song seem to mock and state what Caustic did with the rest of the lyrics on the album in that “If the beat is hard enough you don’t need words, you just need a good chorus and the rest is blurred.” This track is followed by Hiroshima Burn, which doesn’t let stop what the opening track started, which is to say, pure industrial made for Rivetheads to stomp to. From here we go into Bulletproof Lolita, the first of the album’s three instrumental tracks. Instrumental tracks, in general, should tell a story with the absence of lyrics. Of the three instrumental tracks, the only one that really does this is I Play Computer! the sixth track on the album. The next track, that is not an instrumental, is Orchid, with guest vocals by Unwoman, which tells a bitter tale of a used woman seeking answers. Generate Chaos (feat. Bitch Brigade), Chum the Waters (feat. Ned Kirby of Stromkern), Floor Whore Disko, and White Knuckle Head Fuck (feat. Faderhead) all continue the onslaught that this album brings.
The tracks that stand out most and have subsequently been on repeat are: Hiroshima Burning, Orchid, Chum the Waters, and White Knuckle Head Fuck. Expect to hear some if not all of these in the clubs once the album is released. If you don’t, then request them.
