Cable Companies offer cheap broadband to Low Income Customers
The FCC has asked major cable and broadband providers for cheap broadband for low income households. Upon the request for cheap broadband, most major cable companies have taken the commitment to offer broadband Internet access to low-income households for $9.99 a month as an introductory price. Comcast and Time Warner already are offering cheap broadband in some areas.
This is to introduce the broadband service to customers at $9.99 a month that have never used broadband before. There are some still out there that get their connection through dial-up services. To some people it is not important for broadband because of cost or lack of interest to their lifestyle. This will give households a way to afford a fast internet connection through broadband technology.
The amount of websites with information and resources on the web that is available is astounding. This gives more access to individuals these websites and resources as well as websites tailored to entertainment and retail sales. Households and individuals that have not been able to fully access the web and research all the different websites and services offered will soon have easier access to the Internet with a fast connection speed. There are other resources that can also become available that will offer to low income households refurbished computers at a low price.
