Brrr: A review of Widmer Brothers winter warmer

Every winter Portlanders look forward to special beer releases to get them through the long, dark, rainy days of fall and winter. It's not unusual to see people gathering around a fire at their local enjoying a pint and the warm company of friends.

Widmer released Brrr Seasonal Ale, its winter warmer in October 2012 and is guaranteed to be in high demand among the locals. Widmer is known for consistent, high-quality beers that are very drinkable. Brrr is no different, and tastes delicious from tap and bottle alike.

Brrr pours a gorgeous cinnamon-caramel color with an aroma that is surprisingly a little reminiscent of pine sap. A hop-forward winter ale with malty sweetness and a dry citrus finish is unique and sure to please the hop-heads of the Pacific Northwest. With an ABV of 7.2 percent, Brrr, is guaranteed to chase away the winter chills.
