Harvest Moon Brewery and Cafe in New Brunswick is well known for it's local beer and nightlife but what most people don't know is that the brewery also offers an extensive menu and more than just typical bar food. The George Street location, unique local beer, and quality food have made Harvest Moon a longtime favorite of Rutgers students, young professionals and beer connoisseurs for years.
Typical bar food usually consists of items like nachos, wings and french fries but Harvest Moon offers much more than that with unique appetizers, salads, sandwiches and even entrees like pad thai and tender sirloin served with roasted potatoes and arugula. Although appetizers and starters do include things like nachos and wings, the menu also includes a crab and avocado starter, "Hong Kong" hummus (made with sesame and green scallions and served with a tomato ginger salsa, wonton crisps and cucumbers), and a special quesadilla of the day.
As far as main dishes go, Harvest Moon offers plenty of variety. For those looking for lighter options and salads try their "Mexed" green salad, which comes topped with fried cheese, avocado, and pico de gallo. The restaurant offers casual fare like sandwiches, burgers and pizza and fancier entrees like pesto chicken, pasta dishes like their unique Brunswick ravioli, and yellowfin Tuna steak. Many of the entrees on the menu come with beer pairing recommendations.
