Festus, Missouri’s Bottle Rockets were in town Saturday delivering a two-hour roots rock revival to a sold out crowd at Off Broadway. The bands Southern boogie, alt country twang with hard-hitting guitar induced rock & roll had the crowd completely in the zone. The fluidity and skill members, Brian Henneman (guitar, vocals), Mark Ortmann (drums), John Horton (guitar), and Keith Voegele (bass), play in sync made it immediately clear why their fans have had such a devotedness for over twenty years. The twenty-plus song set included fan favorites such as Radar Gun, Kerosene, Welfare Music and Trailer Mama.

The Bottle Rockets are touring in support of their self-titled, two discs bonus track-laden reissue from Bloodshot Records. The epic box set, full of extras, is a reissue of the Bottle Rockets first two albums from 1993-1994 “The Bottle Rockets” and “The Brooklyn Side”. The re-mastered editions are two of best ways to celebrate one of Southern Rocks greatest pioneering bands and the contribution they have made on their way.
