Bernadette has all the finer monster skills. She can lurch. She can growl. She's even good at mayhem. But even though she's all monster on the outside, Bernadette has a terrible secret. She's really only mostly monsterly on the inside. The other part of Bernadette likes to play with kittens, bake yummy things in the oven, and pick flowers, all of which are decidedly unmonsterly activities.
Problems begin when Bernadette goes to Monster Academy. Not one of the other monsters likes her ideas for a group hug during Monster Moves Class. They all cringe when she sings a song during Creepy Noises Class. They're even shocked during Advanced Mayhem Class by her unmayhemic creation that carries the message, "LOVE YOU." Clearly, Bernadette is not entirely monsterly.
Bernadette resorts to baking to win the hearts of her fellow classmates, but when not even her cupcakes with sprinkles sway the other monsters, she begins to wonder how she'll ever fit in if she's only mostly monsterly.
