"Savvy" by Bones Muhroni is a dynamic Indie Rock album.
Tracks like "Ahhh!" are energetic little sonic blasts (can you tell by the title?), featuring catchy hooks and gritty blues riffs.
Songs like "The Mender" completely change that pace, and instead unfold a very mellow mood, sounding very similar to The Shins ("New Slang" to be more specific).
The track "Not No Hell" doesn't really even sound like the same band as the previous songs, but rather is a very standard modern Blues Rock song. Unlike the majority of this album, this song is kind of boring and plain.
The following song (entitled: 'Gentleman') kicks in with a more upbeat sound and more interesting structure.
Overall "Savvy" is an interesting listen that has it's strong points, and has it's weak points. Upon examination of the liner notes it says that this is an album two years in the making and that it's been a concept of theirs since their beginnings. I think theirs a lot of really strong ideas in "Savvy",but some ideas within the record sound like maybe they were early projects that the band tackled before they got into a good two year chemistry with eachother.
