Lord Emsworth (Timothy Spall) and his outrageous sister Connie (Jennifer Saunders) along with his Lordships son Freddie (Jack Farthing) reside at Blandings Castle. That would be just fine for his Lordship for his only real joy in life is playing with his prize pig The Empress. Unfortunately, they are not alone. A long list of family and house guests all seem to want to live or visit for long periods of time. You see his Lordship would be content if his sister Connie would go and find another place to live but that doesn't seem to be the case. In other words this is one hilarious place to live for there is always something crazy going on.

The series 2 DVD set includes episodes "Throwing Eggs", "Dirty Work at the Crossroads", "Hallo to All This", "Lord Emsworth Acts for The Best", "Sticky Wicket at Blandings", "Necessary Rhino", and "Custody of the Pumpkin".

I would have to say my favorite is the titled 'Throwing Eggs". It has the Duke of Dunstable (Harry Enfield) come for a visit. Not only does he try to destroy everything at the Castle, but he also tries to have his Lordship committed. Which makes it one if the most hilarious episodes of this series.

Another favorite is one in which older sister Charlotte (Celia Imrie) arrives ends up wanting to stay on permanently in the episode titled "Dirty Work at the Crossroads". In addition Empress the pig getting stolen by Freddie is hilarious. I know it all sounds so silly but it is all good fun and makes for one enjoyable show.

Acorn is bringing the Series 2 DVD set to us come August 26, 2014. The DVD quality is superb. The sound and visuals are perfect and most enjoyable.

'Blandings' is one of those shows to enjoy when you just want to sit back and laugh for a couple of hours. This would be a perfect fit for any comedy lover's DVD library. You would have at your fingertips some of the best in British humor. So take the time to see his Lordship, Empress, Connie, and Freddie at their very best. Enjoy all the crazy extended members of the family that happen to drop by and the nuttiest friends they seem to have.
