Best of Atlanta: Serpas True Food

Nestled in the architecturally pleasing O4W Studioplex compound you will find Serpas True Food restaurant. The restaurant could be located in any urban setting due to it’s clean lines and industrial feel. It’s far from cold though, the space is welcoming with soft light and energy from the crowd.

Per Serpas they serve “Southern food with a Louisiana flair”. The dinner menu reflects this description accurately, but not overwhelmingly so. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh with food offerings based on availability. The price point is a little higher than your average restaurant but in this case it’s worth it. The service is also exceptional, they are attentive and personable.

For the meat lover with a hearty appetite check out the veal porterhouse, an ample sized steak cooked to perfection with delicious accompaniments. If you’re a fan of shellfish, be sure to try the tomato PBR steamed mussels which are flavorful and fresh. What really makes this dish special though is the sauce. You’ll find yourself sopping it up with the homemade focaccia bread. Also worth mentioning are the duck breast and the pork osso bucco, which is fall off the bone tender. You really can’t go wrong with any food you order at Serpas.

While it’s not easy to find flaws at Serpas, the only complaint to be had would be the noise level at peak times. It’s not possible to talk to anyone that isn’t directly next to you. This makes for great snuggle chatting, but isn’t ideal for groups when they are busy. If you have a chance to go to Serpas though, by all means make it a point to dine here. You will not be disappointed.
