Formed after the death of a family member, Vallenfyre combines retro-Swedish death metal and early 1990s doom metal with Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride members. The result are simple SWDM songs, like Dismember with half as many riffs, but with each one having an embedded melodic figure (like "Through the Colonnades" from Entombed's Clandestine). The result is vast and tantalizingly beautiful in the midst of roaring noise.
