Best of 2011: Primordial - Redemption at the Puritan's Hand

Combining black metal, Celtic folk and punk-influenced rock, Primordial make the album U2 would have made if those overpaid bloats had actual souls. There are metal riffs, but the metal is mostly in the "feel" of these compositions, which use the weight of life as a pressure toward emotional expression. The vocals are semi-distorted and the riffs melodic, but that cannot hide the fact that this album is a call to war and nothing else.
