Best of 2011: Gridlink - Orphan

Postmodern grindcore does not deconstruct. Instead, it adds everything but the kitchen sink, at high speed with almost no time to breathe. This short (13 minute) album has as many riffs as a regular album and yet the songs hold together because the riffs are variations of a theme that emerges over time. Hysterical methed-out chihuahua vocals accentuate this absurdist parody of modern society through its bizarre information overload.
