Best Friends Forever: 'Best Friends Forever' (2009)

Best Friends Forever's self titled record is a quirky Punk Singer-Songwriter album.

The opening song (entitled: 'Jes Excellent!') kicks things off with maybe the most descriptive song about infatuation that I've ever heard. A really loud vocal "do do do" hook runs throughout the entire song while the lead female vocal describes her crush on a guy, and all the possibilities that could have been. This starts things off on the right foot, as it sets the tone for the charming tongue in cheek weirdness that is to follow.

The third track (entitled: 'Abraham Lincoln') opens up with the line: "Abraham Lincoln, I would like to go back in time, and be your wife...". The entire song follows how history would be different if the singer could have just taken Mary Todd's place.

Altogether this is a very entertaining and fun album, and it's comical how many odd infatuations the singer seems to have with persons living and dead (as each song seems to examine a new one).
