While my all time HG, aka Holy Grail, eye brow definition tools are Smashbox brow brush combined with the old version of Smashbox Brow Tech. Note, I haven't tried it since they changed the product to include two colors of powder plus the wax to keep the brows in place. However, that is on the mid/high end of the cost spectrum. The best brow pencil for blonds is Maybelline Expert Eyes Twin Brow & Eye Pencils, Blonde 107. I first tried this when I was 11 years old. I used to use it on my brows and also colored my eye lids with it. Side note, it functions as an eye liner so using it as an eyeshadow is safe. When applied to the eye lids it really makes green and blue eyes POP.
Last month I ran out of my original Smashbox Brow Tech (not the current version) and the light went on, ding ding ding, why spend $20-ish on my eyebrows when it's possible to spend around $5. The bonus is that two pencils come in one pack, which means it will last a long time. I personally dislike replacing my favorite staple products. Do the math, it's only around $2.50 per eye pencil, a great deal. I decided to give Maybelline Expert Eyes Twin Brow & Eye Pencil in Blonde 107 another try. To my happy surprise, I remembered why I loved it.
It stays put, the color is natural looking, while the formula is waxy enough to keep the brows in place all day without an extra gel or wax, even in the Southern California heat.
Step 1) "Draw" it on in light strokes, with a light hand, this is not crayon class, build up to where you need, slowly.
Step 2) Use an eyebrow brush, either the professional kind or a clean disposable mascara wand, that hasn't been used for mascara, to smooth the pencil into your eyebrows. Blending is important.
Conclusion. This is the best, economically priced drug store eyebrow pencil on the market for blonds. While I haven't tried the other colors marketed to other hair colors, I've heard similar opinions as my conclusion. If you are on a budget, or want to save on the things you can, this product is worth giving a try.
Other positives are that it is a blend-able color that shapes brows and defines eyes, is water proof and long wearing, hypoallergenic, contact lens safe, and safe for sensitive eyes. As always be sure to purchase from a store that accepts makeup returns that have been used just in case it doesn't work for your natural features and situation.
