Medicinal Purposes Bar and Grill is located smack dab in the middle of the medical community on Galveston Island, and indeed treats people to a good time, great food and awesome drink specials! There were other great bar and grills about the Island but this one was impressive on all aspects.
The menu was great; all the food you will see in the slideshow was from one meal for only $15.00. It wasn’t just the price of the food, it was the amazing flavor. After chowing down all day to get a glimpse of the Restaurant Week participants there was still room for this great meal (to split between the two of us.) The appetizer was deliciously fried onion rings, mushrooms and frickles; served with ranch dressing. The waitress was so nice she went out of her way to pack more ranch with our to-go box without even asking her. For our meal we received a twice-baked potato filet topped with goodness and 2 tender pork sliders (so YUMMY!) a half set of slow-smoked pork ribs which were hefty and fall-apart juicy served along with seasoned steak fries. Must say, every bit was delectable. With the food, the great drink specials went well. That evening, all beer choices were $2.50. The St. Arnold’s Elissa was a great choice as it paired very well with those pork ribs.
The service was exceptional, the food was fresh and marvelous, and the atmosphere was inviting and unique. Even the bathrooms were clean and cute…you know what they say about the bathrooms reflecting the kitchen behind the scenes! I definitely recommend Medicinal Purposes to anyone in the Galveston area and check out their website, they seem to keep it up-to-date which really helps those who want to know the specials and upcoming events.
