eOne Entertainment brings the third season of Syfy’s hit supernatural drama Being Human to Blu-ray and DVD. The show revolves around three roommates living in Boston who appear to be in their twenties as they try to live a normal life despite being a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf. The series is a remake of the BBC show of the same name. The first season stuck close to the original BBC series, but has since taken off to create new original directions for the characters.

Season two left Sally trapped in limbo, Aidan buried alive and either Josh or Nora getting shot which left fans wondering what was going to happen next. As with the previous seasons this show continues their dark tones, while still bringing a certain amount of humor to the series. This season they took some clever new directions with witchcraft and zombie-esque elements while still keeping the core stories that they have been building towards moving ahead. Each of the actors have really developed and found their groove with these parts. While there have been plenty of the supernatural elements to the series, this season stepped it up with the witch story arc that helped to do new things with the Sally character making an aspect of the show that could wear thin quickly and mixing it up a bit. While the normal struggles of Aidan continue his arc with the young sick boy and new love this season not only humanizes this vampire character, but also opens up more chances to delve into his past thus further developing the character itself. Intertwined in all of this is the werewolf story that continues to be the darkest and most intriguing of the series. This season continued to step things up thrusting a rift between all the characters in the series making each of them stronger as well as closer when all was said and done once again showcasing why this series has such a huge following.

The cast is great and the writing has made this series one to stand up against other similar favorites like Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and possibly even better. Entertainment One has brought the entire 13 episode third season to Blu-ray complete with high definition picture and sound, as well as making of featurette, bloopers, The Cast of Cliffhangers, and Being Human at San Diego Comic Con 2013. This is a must have for any fan of the show, but if you’ve never seen it before then get out there and pick this set up when it hits stores on January 7th as well as the first two seasons available now.
