BCD Tofu House

For these chilly days when you want to feel snug, tofu soup is the cure. This restaurant chain provides ample food, with satisfied tummies.

The Food: Various Korean tofu soups, which include choices of seafood, kimchi, and dumpling, served with fresh side veggie dishes and fried fish. Bimbimbap (white rice dish with beef and veggies served in a stone bowl) and beef bulgolgi are reasonable options if you’re not feeling like soup. Prices range from $2 (appetizers) to $17 (for larger entrees).

The Ambiance: Pretty simple, open layout and the lights are pretty bright, but it’s a good place to catch up with friends or hang out with someone special. Don’t expect any privacy though and parking is kind of annoying. Place does get pretty busy around dinnertime, so unless you enjoy waiting outside, show up early before the dinner crowd arrives.

The Extra: Open pretty late, for those super late night cravings when nothing else is open besides gross junkfood chains. Monday through Thursdays are open till 2am, Fridays and Saturdays open till 4am, and Sundays are open till 12am.
