Bateman and McCarthy give road trip a new meaning in 'Identity Thief'

Kooky is the first thing that pops into your head when you think of Melissa McCarthy (‘Bridesmaids’). Now add Jason Bateman (‘Horrible Bosses) and the result is insanity. Both actors star in Universal Pictures’ comedy ‘Identify Theft’ and takes the audience on a humor filled ride to crazy town.

In the film, Melissa who lives in Miami (Diana) steals Jason’s (Sandy) identity and ruins his life. In order to salvage his good name and credit, he volunteers to bring her back to the authorities in. Sandy convinces Diana to take a road trip with him to set things straight with the authorities. But, he is not the only one interested in Sandy. In hot pursuit are drug enforcers intent on her demise.

Oftentimes, when more than one comic is in the room you have each vying for attention. But, Bateman and McCarthy work as a team complementing each other. Their chemistry is amazing to watch. Bateman’s straight laced temperament goes toe-to-toe with McCarty’s lunacy. The result is a slapstick physical comedy chock full of laughs that will having you rolling in your seat.

Along for this wild ride are Eric Stonestreet (Big Chuck), Amanda Peet (Trish Patterson), T.I. (Julian), Genesis Rodriguez (Marisol), Morris Chestnut (Det. Reilly), and John Cho (Daniel Casey).

Under Director Seth Gordon's (‘Horrible Bosses’) direction,, ‘Identity Thief’ is a laugh-out-loud comedy that gives the phrase ‘road trip’ a whole new meaning.
