There’s always something good brewing at Bastone in Royal Oak, and this month is no exception. To help highlight their slate of award winning beer, Bastone is now offering a special “Pasta and a Pint” menu, through the end of February.
Here’s your chance to experience some comfort food classics as only Bastone can create. And for the length of the promotion, your first pint of award winning Bastone beer is free.
Each of these delightful from scratch entrees is served with your choice of beer:
Cajun Chicken Pasta - Spiced chicken, Serrano ham, Andouille sausage and peas in a Cajun cream sauce with linguini.
Pesto Shrimp Pasta – House made basil pesto, marinated Roma tomatoes and portabella mushrooms, tossed with rotini.
Vegetable Cannelloni – Marinated roasted vegetables, herbed goat cheese and fire roasted tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella.
Hunter Steak Pasta - Pan seared beef tenderloin tips with vegetables and fresh wild mushrooms in a horseradish demi-glace with orecchiette pasta.
Chipotle Seafood Pasta – Fried calamari steaks, sautéed shrimp, lobster, smoked eel and spinach in a chipotle cream sauce with rainbow fettuccini. The smoky eel and chipotle contrast nicely with the crispy calamari. You get layers of flavors and textures.
I ordered the Hunter Steak Pasta which was chock full of green and yellow squash, carrots, red and yellow pepper, and wild mushrooms, tossed with pasta that gently cradled the deliciously beefy sauce. The dish was colorful and eye appealing.
Bastone seasonal beer includes the current Pin-Up Blonde—a delicious brew that begins with some apricot aroma, continues with slight fruit, and finishes with citrus and grassy hops. This amber colored gem clocks in at 6.8% ABV.
In March, check back for a Milk Stout, brewed with milk sugar which lends a smooth, creamy sweetness and body to the beer, and an English style Brown Ale, which will have some slight caramel, toasty, and very slight hoppy notes.
For dessert, check out the caramel apple pie with cinnamon honey ice cream, or the warm chocolate truffle cake with espresso ice cream.
The Pasta & a Pint menu will be available 4 p.m. to close Sunday through Thursday, the entire month of February.
