Autographer wearable camera

We live in a world where people love to capture special moments with photos. Instagram is a perfect example of how people enjoy documenting their lives with still images. Autographer is a wearable camera that lets you do just that without having to be directly behind the camera lens. Simply clip Autographer to your shirt or jacket or even wear it around your neck with a lanyard to capture images from an alternative point of view, hands free.

What’s great about Autographer is that it gives you somewhat of a sense of freedom as you capture special moments.“Autography generates greater memories by capturing images of ‘real life' – rather than 'posed life’. People can completely enjoy and experience the moment without having to pause to take photos,” said Oxford Metrics Group (OMG) Life in a statement to Examiner Thursday (Dec 19).

Autographer was originally developed for use as a medical tool to assist recovering brain trauma patients with strengthening their memory. The 5MP camera of Autographer is capable of taking hundreds of still images within 2 hours, storing them all on an 8GB of internal memory, which can hold up to 28,000 photos.

Autographer especially comes in handy for capturing outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing or going on a safari without having to fumble for a camera. The 136 degree wide angle lens with fixed-focus has a slight fisheye effect, adding a unique appeal to each shot. In a hands on trial wearing Autographer at New York City’s Jacob Javits Convention Center, I was able to capture some brilliant images of the landmark’s beautiful architecture from unique angles.

Even in low-light conditions, the image quality of Autographer does not disappoint. The world’s first intelligent, wearable camera, Autographer features the following five built-in sensors: accelerometer, magnetometer, temperature, color sensor, PIR (motion detector).

Operating the Autographer is easy, there’s just two buttons to power the camera on and off and access the main menu. You can set the camera to take 50 images per hour,100 images per hour or 200 images per hour. When you’re ready to view your photos, simply connect it to your PC or Mac via USB port or use Bluetooth to pair the device with your smartphone. Photos can be geotagged by enabling Autographer’s built-in GPS setting, making it easier to access your photos by location when using the companion PC, Mac software or iPhone app.

First launched in the UK by OMG Life, the Autographer wearable camera is now available in the U.S. for $399 directly from the Autographer US Store online. Last minute holiday shoppers can take advantage of free express shipping to get it before Christmas.
