On Friday, February 8, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., Atlantic City Fashion week showcased a spectacular runway show, consisting of both ready to wear and haute couture designs from a diverse background of designers. In both the ready to wear and haute couture collections, the designers brought the fashion to the runway and had guests waiting on the edge of their seats for the next look to grace the runway stage. The collections that were shown at Atlantic City Fashion week were Tommy Bahama, Intellect Designs, dp bikini, Aviator, Dhengi Brand Clothing, Jamie Estelle, Duke & Winston, Sam Kim Grace Garvey, Jazmin Brown Destiny, B. Turner Designs, A Couture Clothier, Designberg Brose, Brooks Brothers,and Nina Street Designs, who earned the reputable title of "International Designer of the Year."
Tommy Bahama kicked off the runway show with an array of beach and boardwalk ready plaids, prints, shorts, crocheted tops, hats, and more for men and women. Dp bikini shared their beautiful and innovative “itsty bitsty” bikinis on the runway just in time for spring/ summer 2013. Intellect Designs and Dhengi Brand Clothing brought some cool streetwear looks to the stage. Aviator and Duke & Winston Brands put on a show of fresh, preppy, and chic styles on the runway for both men and women.
The latter portion of the show consisted of the “Haute Couture” edition, starting off with a showing of intricate and feminine hand made accessories by Jamie Estelle. Sam Kim Grace Garvey showed off her couture line “S Garvey Designs”, with a phenomenal array of details, vibrant colors, prints and more in her line. Next to follow was a young and talented fourteen year old fashion designer by the name of Jazmin Brown. Jazmin Brown is a true testament to the fact that age is not a factor when it comes to pursuing dreams. Jazmin’s line consisted of beautifully and well crafted gowns, dresses, jackets, t-shirts, and more for girls and women of every age! Brittany Turner of “B Turner Designs”, is also another young designer with a compelling line of stylish clothing that women everywhere would certainly love to wear.
A Couture Clothier showed an intriguing and androgynous line of clothing for men and women with interesting and bold prints on their vests and sets. The line was very reminiscent of the style of singer Janelle Monae. Designerberg Brose brought to the runway a fantastic line of modern and chic African print clothing for women with jumpsuits, dresses, and more! The designers that showcased at Atlantic City Fashion Week are creative and create clothing of exceptional quality.
