Greenbay Organic Grocer, formerly Y&Y Green Organic, is growing with incredible vitality. Having taken over the neighboring space circa May 2013, Greenbay Organic Grocer has a larger selection of products in general. More organic fruits and vegetables, more organic bakery products, more organic dairy and pasta products, as well as a healthy selection of organic cleaning and household products. While the organic shopping experience does require sifting through non-organic, big box brands, you can still find great organic brands like Brad's Organic, Deboles organic pasta, and Garden of Eatin' chips - to name a few.
One great addition to the store is a very big refrigerated and frozen section, flanking the back of the store. This is a huge improvement over the small refrigerator they used to have in the back corner of the store. The new aisles are long and wide, and the bread aisle seems to go on forever. They are building a salad bar in close proximity to an already respectable olive bar. While the old store had a decent selection, the new store definitely boasts more of the basics most shoppers are seeking; including personal hygiene products and lots and lots of different chocolates!
With an endless string of new grocery stores that falsely claim to be "organic" popping up like acne on the face of Astoria, it's so refreshing to have a store that you can tell is actually trying to live up to its name. Greenbay Organic Grocer, we salute you for your honestly in advertising, your healthy selection of organic fare, and your small town feel. It makes shopping at your store a pleasure. Stop by and take a look for yourself!
