Assaggi Mozzarella Bar, Italian food at its best

What sets Assaggi apart from other Italian restaurants is its mozzarella bar, and so it shouldn’t surprise you that the mozzarella sampler is one of the best items on their menu. The sampler is comprised of a trio of fresh, housemade mozzarella, burrata, which is mozzarella stuffed with cream, and the smoothest, most flavorful ricotta you have ever tasted. Accompanied by an assortment of sauces, chutneys and garnishes, you may not need much else after this starter. Mound a piece of bread with fresh cheese, maybe some tomato chutney or a roasted pepper, sit back and enjoy with a glass of wine.

If you don’t want to make the sampler your meal, the simple solution is to share! The appetizer perfect for 3 or 4 to share, and sharing will allow you to try the different cheeses but still indulge in some of the other great Italian dishes the restaurant has to offer.

Appetizers such as the lentil soup, mozzarella fritters, and tempura peppers are also excellent and cooked perfectly, if you prefer a different starter to your meal.

As for main dishes, fluffy gnocchi in a simple tomato sauce, topped with a generous scoop of creamy, perfect burrata, and pasta drenched in garlic, parsley, olive oil, and heady, decadent black truffles are both divine and delicious. Orecchiette pasta, tossed with crunchy pine nuts, sweet pumpkin, and tart goat cheese is another luscious pasta dish worth trying.

Enjoy wine and good service throughout your meal, and don’t forget to order dessert. Classic Italian desserts such as tiramisu, apple cake, and Italian donuts provide the perfect end to your indulgent meal.

On the dinner menu appetizer prices range from $5 – 13, and pastas are around $17-20. Tuesdays are half off wine bottles, and the restaurant offers wine tasting the first Wednesday of every month.
