The Association of Surfing Professionals has finally released its official tour schedule for the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour season.
Before revealing all the upcoming surfing events, it's worth noting that the 34 qualifiers for the 2013 ASP World Tour will consist of the top surfers from 2012 ASP World Title Rankings (32 total) and two ASP wildcards.
The ASP surfing schedule for 2013 will include events for the ASP World Championship Tour, ASP Women's WCT, ASP Prime, ASP Star, ASP World Longboard Tour, ASP Longboard Qualifying Series, ASP World Junior Championship, ASP Pro Junior Tour and ASP Specialty events.
The 2013 WCT surfing season will get underway Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Gold Coast, Australia, and will culminate in late December at Banzai Pipeline, Oahu, Hawaii.
The winner of each WCT event will receive a grand prize of $450,000 and is great news considering 2013 marks the return of the Rip Curl Pro Search.
After a two-and-a-half year hiatus, the Rip Curl Pro will take place at Jobo's Beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, from February 9th thru the 13th. Rip Curl Puerto Rico 2013 will be broadcast live via webcast at live.ripcurl.com.
