Attendance for this show was very good, but not quite sold out as tickets were still available at show time. The venue was still pretty much packed as would be expected for such high caliber show.

Asking Alexandria are an English metalcore band from York, North Yorkshire.

Founded in 2008 when Ben Bruce contacted his old companions upon returning to the UK after residing in Dubai.

Asking Alexandria have their roots in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, wherein guitarist Ben Bruce started a band and released one full-length album titled The Irony of Your Perfection with the group under the name Asking Alexandria.

The current line-up of the group consists of Ben Bruce-(lead guitar), Danny Worsnop-(vocals), Cameron Liddell-(rhythm guitar), Sam Bettley-(bass guitar) and James Cassells-(drums).

Their set lasted over 90 minutes and went like this, (from the set list on stage)

"Don't Pray For Me", "Run Free", "Breathless", "Dedication", "Someone, Somewhere", "Reckless & Relentless", "To The Stage", "A Prophecy" and four encore songs, "Break Down The Walls", "Killing You", "The Death Of Me" and "Poison".

This was a very high energy show, all the fans were getting into every song they played. Moshing and crowd surfing were in full swing as is expected at a show like this. This examiner just tried to stay out of the way.

Main support for Asking Alexandria was August Burns Red.

August Burns Red is an American Christian metalcore band, from Manheim, Pennsylvania.

Formed in 2003, the group began their first performances while a majority of the members were attending their senior year of high school and soon began playing shows around Lancaster, before being signed to CI Records and afterward, Solid State Records.

The group is primarily known for their heavy breakdowns and odd-meter riffs. They cite Between the Buried and Me, Misery Signals and Hopesfall as their main influences.

Current members include, JB Brubaker-(lead guitar), Brent Rambler-(rhythm guitar), Matt Greiner-(drums, piano), Jake Luhrs-(lead vocals) and Dustin Davidson-(bass guitar, backing vocals).

The set lasted about 45 minutes and went something like this,

"Internal Cannon", "Composure", "Empire", "Provision", "Back Burner", "Fault Line", "Marianas Trench", "Poor Millionaire" and "White Washed".

Having never seen this band before, I can say after this show, this examiner is now a fan of these guys. They did a very good set, a perfect fit for Asking Alexandria. Very impressive to say the least, they most definitely rocked the GSR.

Before August Burns Red hit the stage was We Came As Romans.

We Came as Romans is an American melodic metalcore band from Troy, Michigan that formed on July 19, 2005.

They signed to Equal Vision Records in April 2009 and are managed by Outerloop Management.

The band has released two EPs, Demonstrations (2008) and Dreams (2008), and three full-length albums, To Plant a Seed (2009), Understanding What We've Grown to Be (2011), and Tracing Back Roots (2013).

Current members are, David Stephens-(vocals), Joshua Moore-(lead guitar), Lou Cotton-(rhythm guitar), Andy Glass-(bass), Eric Choi-(drums) and Kyle Pavone-(vocals, keyboards, synthesizer).

Their set lasted over 35 minutes and went like this,

"Tracing Back Roots", "Ghosts", "Fade Away", "Glad You Came" (The Wanted cover), "Roads That Don't End And Views That Never Cease", "Never Let Me Go", "Hope" and "To Plant a Seed".

Talk about high energy, these guys were all over the place. Running and jumping all over the stage, it was very hard to shoot these guys as they never stayed in one place very long. They had all their fans very excited in every aspect of their show. They were very impressive as well.

Also playing were Crown The Empire and Born Of Osiris.

Crown the Empire is an American metalcore band formed in 2010 in Dallas, Texas. They have released one EP and one full-length album and have toured with acts such as , Pierce The Veil, Attack Attack!, Issues, Like Moths To Flames, The Color Morale, Capture The Crown, Palisades, The Used and now Asking Alexandria and We Came As Romans.

Crown The Empire members are, Andrew "Andy Leo" Velasquez-(lead vocals, keyboard), Brandon Hoover-(rhythm guitar), Hayden Tree-(bass), Bennett "Benn Suede" Vogelman-(lead guitar) and David Escamilla-(screaming vocals).

Born of Osiris is an American deathcore band, formed in 2003 in Chicago. The group underwent several name changes, including Diminished (2003–2004), Your Heart Engraved (2004–2006), and Rosecrance (2006–2007), before finally settling on Born of Osiris in 2007, basing the name off the Egyptian deity Osiris and the tale of his son Horus.

Born Of Osiris members, Ronnie Canizaro-(lead vocals),Cameron Losch-(drums), Joe Buras-(keyboards, synthesizers, vocals),David Da Rocha-(bass guitar) and Lee McKinney-(guitar).

Although this examiner missed both of their sets, all the fans that I talked to after the show said, "Both bands tore it up".

This was a total metal show, don't miss any of these bands the next time they come around. You surely won't be disappointed.

A great time was had by all.
