Last week, Paul Kuntz, manager of Arrowhead Parable Christian Bookstore noted five words that describe the mission of the store: “inspiration, hope, encouragement, celebration, and friendship.” Christian or not, who couldn’t use those five in their lives?
Inspiration, hope, encouragement, celebration and friendship come in many forms. Arrowhead sells dozens of different Bibles – children’s Bibles, youth Bibles, study Bibles, and Bibles in many different translations. There are also hundreds of inspirational books, music CDs, and DVDs as well as gifts, games, calenders, jewelry, software and church supplies. Resources are available for individuals and families, children, youth and adults. Resources on finances, relationships, families, children, and jobs fill the shelves. The store staff are friendly, caring, non-judgmental and helpful.
Arrowhead Bookstore started as a book table at the Lake Arrowhead Bible Conference, Pennsylvania in 1945. By 1951 the book table had grown into a bookstore at Lake Arrowhead and a small store in Binghamton. The store moved to its present location in 1992. Arrowhead became Arrowhead Parable in 2005, joining a national network of stores that includes four Parable Bookstores in upstate New York.
