Arena One: Slaverunners is the first book in The Survival Trilogy by Morgan Rice. Ms Rice has also written The Vampire Journals series, The Vampire Legacy series, and A Quest of Heroes, the first book in The Sorcerer’s Ring.

Arena One is the tale of Brooke, who became her sister’s sole provider and protector after the war broke out and society was demolished. This new world is brutal and bleak, full of danger and want, and Brooke and Bree cling together as they face their new reality. Brooke is on the edge of despair, wondering how she will provide for Bree and keep her warm through the winter in their wilderness home, when she stumbles upon a cozy home hidden away from view and sure to change their lives for the better.

But before she can move them to safety, Bree is stolen by the slaverunners, and Brooke finds herself in a desperate race to rescue her sister before the slaverunners reach New York City and Bree is beyond her reach forever. Brooke’s frantic chase is helped by Ben, whose brother was also stolen by the slaverunners, and the two risk their lives following their siblings, even into the city, which is now fraught with danger at every turn. Brooke risks everything in an effort to save her sister from Arena One, where everyone who enters dies, and emerges into a whole new reality.

Arena One: Slaverunners is a fast-paced dystopian read filled with danger and action on every page. The world is a bleak one where death waits for the unlucky and the unwary, where cell phones and grocery stores are a thing of the past and deprivation and danger are the new reality. The characters are driven and devoted to each other, and will face any danger to keep those they love safe.
