Are You Scared (2006)

“After waking up in an abandoned factory, six kidnapped terns realize they are contestants on a reality show called ‘Are You Scared?’” –IMDB.com

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this film was. True, it was obviously very low budget, but it moved along nicely with an original plot and some pretty scary traps. It reminded me a good deal of Saw meets Hostel, leaning a little bit more toward the Saw plot. The special effects were decent. The performances were pretty good. But what drives this movie along is the plot and the Saw-like tests that must be completed.

I give this movie a three star rating. The only reason I am not giving it a four star rating is because I felt that the character development was a bit lacking and the truth behind the villain was wrapped up a little too quickly and neatly for my liking. Other than that, it was a very entertaining movie to watch.
