When tickets first went on sale, the ‘Arctic Monkeys’ show sold out shortly afterwards, so the Hard Rock / Universal/City Walk parking lot, entrance and floor were nearly full, despite the foul weather that had been pestering the area. When ‘The Orwells’ started their set, promptly at eight, the venue was already fairly packed. But the audience steadily grew, still, and became complacent by the opening band's off key singer, repetitive melodies and loud vocals. It wasn't until halfway through the set that they broke into a cover of ‘Build me up buttercup,’ that the audience really responded, positively. But from there it was more of the, primarily, listless response for the remainder of the 45 minute set.
Shortly afterward the British headliners appeared and were the catalyst for explosive applause that filled the room with an uncanny uproar that, quite literally, shook the walls.
This crowd fervor continued throughout the performance, and included fist raising chants by every member of the audience.
The venue was packed so tightly that even the top pews were full.
Visible from behind the crowd was the glow of many smartphone screens as several viewers tried to record the show.
The six piece went on to play more fan favorites with a three song encore thrown in, in response to the fan persistence.
