A friend and I recently decided to try Arceo’s Mexican Family Restaurant. Located at 1605 S. Nevada Ave. They have been in the Springs for 10 years. On first arrival the exterior looks clean, and appears to be an old Pizza Hut. The inside layout confirms that suspicion. The decor has a Hispanic flair from the wall paint, pictures, and the music playing over their sound system. The dining area is clean and well maintained.
My friend and I were promptly greeted by the friendly wait staff. After being seated we were brought complimentary chips and two different dips. One was a red medium heat salsa, which was quite tasty. The second was Pico de Gallo with shredded cabbage. This was absolutely delicious. My friend and I couldn’t get enough of it. To drink Arceo’s offer Coke products along with three flavors of Orchata.
Arceo’s menu is abundant with choices. It seemed a little overwhelming. Aside from huevos, burritos and combo plates, they also offer vegetarian tailored cuisine, seafood, and children’s potions. There is also a limited selection of burgers. The overall menu prices are quite reasonable.
Next we ordered a cheese crisp. It arrived quickly, covered with an abundance of melted cheese. The edges had a nice light char. The underside was cooked perfectly. From the first bite to the last, crust had the crisp airy crunch you should expect. That combined with the oozy, gooey, heavenly melted cheese, had us wanting seconds.
The main course arrived surprisingly quick. We had #2: one taco, one enchilada, and one tamale; and #4 one enchilada, one taco, and one tostada. Both came with refried beans/rice and were $8.25 each. The plates were very filling. I loved how the taco and tostada shells didn’t crumble from the first bite to the last.
If you have a craving for good Mexican food, I highly recommend Arceo’s Mexican Family restaurant. They offer delicious food for the entire family at prices that won’t break the bank. They also accept to-go orders at (719)442-2626.
