Applebee's of Westminster, located at 9010 N. Wadsworth Pkwy, is a nice change of pace every once in a while. Applebee's has above average food for a national chain and an extensive menu, but what really stands out is the service and the atmosphere at this location.
The service is where this Applebee's really shines. Right as you arrive, the hostess opens the door for you and gets you sitting down within minutes if tables are available. The waitstaff are super attentive and really know what they are doing, not just fly by night waitstaff. They are experienced and trained properly and it shows. If by chance something isn't right, the one of many managers on duty can handle anything that arises. They really seem to care, from handing out miniature pumpkins at Halloween for the kids to making a mistake right!
Yes, the atmosphere is fun here, too. The decor seems right on par with similar restaurants, but it's the staff that really brings this place up a notch. With friendly staff that really seem to enjoy working there, it makes everything better. Waitstaff clearing tables that aren't even in their section. A bartender that jokes and hustles at the same time, making sure every customer's glass is full. Managers walking the floor checking up on tables. Oh, and super clean bathrooms!
These national chains are everywhere, on every corner. With that much competition, they need to be better than the rest to really stand out. The way this Applebee's is run, it does stand out and really is a part of the neighborhood.
