During any fashion week (NYFW, LFW or the like), two things are felt when traipsing from one show to another: sleep deprivation or hunger. Now don't get us wrong, it can be exciting to live off adrenaline and the euphoria of seeing what's in store for the next season. But, no one wants to be distracted by the physical feeling of needing nourishment. We felt just that at Anya Hindmarch's AW14 show today - albeit pleasantly hungry.
The designer uniquely styled her upcoming line on a makeshift catwalk using (wait for it...) shopping carts to display her fashionable goods. Models "shopped" past us showcasing leather bags adorned with (of all things) iconic Kellogg's cereal symbols and kitschy vintage brands. Would you want a leather top-handle with Tony the Tiger in Frosted Flakes blue? Yes, please. As one chic Fashion PR exec put it, "Now that's a proper catwalk." How apropos! Somehow, regardless of how outrageous it may appear or even sound as we write this, cereal seems STYLISH. After all the brightly colored smiley faces and cartoon-like clutches whizzed past us, we were left with a feeling of delight and desire to tap into a bowl of sugary, crunchy breakfast goodness.
Take a look at some of the highlights from the show and prepare for a craving
Happy London Fashion Week, Fashionistas!
