Brian Staveley has been writing both fantasy and fiction over the years and will soon debut his first novel called, “ The Emperor’s Blades.”. Doing my interview with Mr. Staveley I found him to be an easy going person, with a laid back charm. He explains how his love of reading books of fantasy and literature as a child has made a passion to write his own creative world for all to share.
Earning a Master Associates in Creative Writing from the University of Boston, taught Philosophy, History and Religion to students over the years. It’s these subjects that has influenced Brian in fabricating many intriguing characters and storylines. The Emperor's Blades, due out January 2014, is the first of a three book trilogy called, “Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne from Tor Book Publishings. The story takes place in a kingdom where a well beloved King was murdered leaving a kingdom torn and three of his children fatherless. With no one to turn to, It is up to the children who must set aside their feelings of remorse for their father’s death and animosity against one another to bring justice back to the kingdom. They soon discover an ancient conspiracy that threatens not only their lives but the kingdom as well.
Brian Staveley’s other short stories and articles include, “Thermopylae was not a romantic comedy, The Vader Effect: Our fondness for fictionalized evil, Of Agents, Secret and Literary and many more. His writing is both snappy with a sense of original sincerity. Readers who love a world of fantasy, mayhem and an ongoing struggle of moral justice will find the Chronicle of the Unhewn captivating with every read page.
