This event is hosted every year by the The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center and brought to town by Bill Johnson and many others. The jam event brings not only some of the finest musicians from the most known bands of the classic rock, reggae and soul eras to one stage but also a great line up of some original regional acts to add to this grand evening of the good times and classics.

Proceeds from this annual event go to support the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, as well as numerous autographed guitars and other items that are auctioned/raffled off to raise funds for The Able Academy, another great charity this band and group of folks prefer to support.

First to the live stage was the Matt Facciolla Band, from the Sarasota area. This band has graced Fort Myers with their sound numerous times over the last few years and their new material is fabulous. A personal touch via lyrics and style applied to solid, well presented classic rock roots. All original music from this band of four lads that will indeed get you on your feet, as Matt's daughter usually leads the dancing in front of the stage every year. Their latest release is titled Second Chances is available on iTunes, you may sample the Matt Facciolla Band right here.

Next up was the Steve Tucci Band and this was a return visit for them as well to this event. This band offers straight up rock/blues with a sparking undertone to southern rock that touches upon great classic genres with an all original twist to things. There is always an Allman Brothers tune or two tossed in for good measure to boot. Keep up with the Steve Tucci Band here.

Sean Chambers Band brought their brand of Chicago, Texas and Delta style blues rendition to this Fort Myers stage for quite the performance treat. Sean is a highly acclaimed blues guitarist that has toured with some of the finest musicians and once you see him play live it is rather apparent. He does make his guitar sing and sends his energy throughout the crowd, all backed by one of the finest blues bands this fan has taken in around SW Florida. This camp is a tight, hard working one that saves it all for the live show.

The energy brought to the stage by Paul Brown on keyboards is only matched by possibly Iggy Pop on a live stage, all while mastering numerous keyboards and vocals. Paul Broderick drives this groove so very intently on the drum kit and Scott Alan's smooth style on the bass strings just pulls this down and dirty blues review all together. These three talents combined with the smoking strings and performance delivered by Sean Chambers creates the best blues experience any music fan will catch locally or regionally. Please take some time to sample the music of the Sean Chambers Band right here.

There were a few raffle during this event in between bands changing over and two autographed guitars were auctioned off to raise funds for The Able Academy, which is a non profit human behavioral and development initiative. Stop by this website to learn more about Able Academy. Other raffles and proceeds also go to the hosting address for this grand event and that is the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center with the mission of nurturing innovation & excellence in the visual and performing arts through exhibitions, performances, preservation, education and outreach in Southwest Florida. The finale for this grand evening of rock, blues and just all around fine classics was the American Vinyl All Star Band, which is made up of a core group of some of the biggest bands and musicians from the classic days that tours the nation with great accompanying opening acts that usually all gather to participate in a fabulous collaborative guest jam at the end of every show. The members of this All Star roster are as follows: Jeffery "Skunk" Baxter (Doobie Brothers/Steely Dan), Barry Goudreau (formerly of Boston), Fran Sheehan (formerly of Boston), Leroy "LSR" Romans (The Wailers/3rd World), Robert "Mousey" Thomson (James Brown), Danny Beissel (Fosterchild). Bill Johnson (Manager) and group founders started the group as a way of giving back to charities approximately eight years ago and decided to make our AllStar Jams an official group (American Vinyl AllStar Band).

This band lays out a set of favored classics sure to please most music fans, in that you get a little bit of: Boston, Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley to only name a few of the classic touches to the past this band offers. This is the finest night in classic music in SW Florida and it raises funds and awareness to programs in many areas of human development and artistic freedom.

There are always some great special guests that usually pop in for brief musical cameo performances and the list read like this: Cliff Williams (AC/DC), Hugh McDonald (Bon Jovi), and Doug Flutie for a quick set on the drum kit that was truly impressive.

Special thanks to: Brent's Music and crew, Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Bill Johnson, Jim Griffith, John Nichols, Doug Flutie, all performers and special guests, staff, volunteers and event guests for this third year running on this event. It is always a pleasure to cover and we look forward to next year!
