For fans of good ol' fashioned heavy Rock 'n Roll, there's few bands that compare to the American MEGAROCK band DC4. Comprised of Rock Veterans and brothers Matt, Shawn, & Jeff Duncan plus former Dio prodigy Rowan Robertson, DC4 embodies what heavy rock is and should be. Their current and past pedigree aside, these 4 brothers in Rock 'n Roll don't rely on their reputations of playing in some of the best bands in the business (including Armored Saint, Dio, & Odin) or live in their past success. DC4 is all about new and original heavy rock. Sure, they'll throw in a cover during their set - but could you ever imagine a Guns 'n Roses concert without any covers? When you see a DC4 show, it's all about the music. If you get a chance to talk with any of its members you'll quickly understand that Music is life for them and DC4 is the result of their life long passion. All of this comes through on stage, as it did once again recently at the Whisky A Go Go. If you love heavy rock you will fall in love with DC4. Catch a show if you can, buy merch. and music online if you can't catch a show, and support great music.
DC4 was the headliner for the evening, but it wasn't the only great band on this bill at the Whisky. Heavy Rocker's PAID, featuring several music veterans including the Lepre brothers (Tony & Chris) provided direct support for their friends in DC4 while Thoughts of Avalon & Fall in Line opened the night. My only disappointment of the evening was the fans who didn't come out to the show because of the rain. There was a great crowd despite the streets being virtually empty, but it's still hard for me, someone who grew up in the Midwest driving in snow but has lived in SoCal for over 15 years, to understand why people are afraid to drive or go out in the rain. For those people who missed this show because of the rain, you missed out on an amazing show. Next time, catch a ride with someone who isn't afraid of the rain.
