Kellie Dawn Pickler is an American country music artist and television personality. She gained fame as a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol, and finished in sixth place. Taylor Hicks won that year.
In 2006, she signed to 19 Recordings and BNA Records as a recording artist, releasing her debut album, Small Town Girl, later that year. As of 2009, it has sold over 800,000 copies. The album, which was certified gold by the RIAA, produced three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts: "Red High Heels" at number 15, "I Wonder" at number 14, and "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind" at number 16.
She released her self-titled second album in Fall 2008 and has produced the singles "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" at number 21, "Best Days of Your Life" at number nine (which she co-wrote with Taylor Swift and her first Top 10 hit), "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" at number 14, and "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again" at number 30.
In 2012, she was ranked as the 14th best American Idol alumna. She also parted ways with her former record label. In October 2012, she signed with Black River Entertainment.
On May 21, 2013, Pickler and her partner Derek Hough were declared the winners of sixteenth season of Dancing with the Stars.
Touring on her latest album, "The Woman I Am" which was released on June 27, 2014, Pickler put on a great performance to a nearly sold out venue.
The set went around 90 minutes and was filled with many of her hits and some covers from other country artist. (sorry no set list)
In between songs, Pickler told stories of her life since her Idol days and what is going on in her life now.
This was this examiners first time seeing Pickler in concert and I can say, not only is she very beautiful to look at, but she puts on a very good show. Her vocals are off the hook good, very impressive to say the least.
This examiner highly recommends catching her show any time you can, it's very much worth the ticket price.
The Tuscany Event Center at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino Reno is just another great place to see a show in the biggest little city, the lighting and sound are top notch and there's really not a bad seat in the house. All the staff are very nice and helpful.
A great time was had by all.
As with all this examiners reviews and feature stories, "The Photos Are What It's All About", so check out the photo slideshow and enjoy the show.
