The rock does not stop in this hit musical inspired by the very popular punk rock band Green Day. Rare and bizarre, but brilliantly laid out through moments of rage and love, 'American Idiot' brought the Chicago audience on an emotional roller coaster. A must see show in Chicago.
A younger generation’s perspective on current media trends, social and political issues as well as the 24 hour news and media networks was displayed throughout the play conveying a bold message. The story is based on three main male characters, all searching for a meaning and direction in life before the world changing tragedy of 9-11. Tony Award-wining Michael Mayer directed and wrote this original punk rock musical. With its authentic style of scenery and heartfelt dance numbers, Chicago audiences were thrilled at opening night from start to finish.
“This is a musical that really moves audiences of all ages, and when they leave the theatre, they will have a new perspective,” leading actor Jake Epstein stated to the Northwest Indiana Times.
The show will run at the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph from February 7-19th. Purchase tickets at broadwayinchicago.com.
