Alma imports aims at bringing wines from Italy’s best growing regions and showcase them throughout the world. With wines from the north of Italy all the way down to Sicily, they are growing a portfolio of wines and wineries to make this happen.
Their Ambasciata del Buon Vino (good wine embassy) focuses on some of the best wine styles from the Veneto region, more specifically Valpolicella.
Their Ambaciata del Buon Vino Valpolicella, Ripasso, 2009 has a nice garnet red color. Ripasso style Valpolicella wines are made when the wine is passes over the spent grapes of Valpollicella Amarone. Amarone is made from grapes that have been partially dehydrated before they are pressed. Those pressed grapes have plenty of dried fruit flavors that the Ripasso Valpolicella picks up. The Ambasciata Valpolicella Ripasso has plenty of red berries, minerals and a bit spicy. The mouth is full of red fruit, some dried fruit and smooth soft tannins with some acidity leading to a medium tart finish.
Enjoy the Ambasciata del Buon Vino, Valpolicella, Ripasso with rich meat dishes, especially a stewed made with the wine.
