It was such a pleasure last evening to be able to attend a feature film where I knew almost all of the cast, having worked with them throughout the years. Katrin had bent my ear quite some time ago about this project and all the difficulties she encountered along with some amazing gifts in her quest to make this film. Ms. Bowen, her producers and her cast certainly pulled off a first class feature film, a rarity in terms of firsts!
The story follows the life of a B-level actress, Jana, and the choices she makes along the way as her career begins to (though quite probably already has) falters. Jana makes poor choices in work, in her “boyfriend” whose mostly out to use her for her money, and it all comes crashing down. It's an interesting look at what often happens to women as they mature....though in the film industry it is usually much harsher. Where do you go from here as a mature female in a world hung up on youth?
