On Saturday January 18, 2014 Collective Soul hit the stage at the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino to a nearly sold-out crowd of hard core fans. The Grand Exposition Hall was packed with only a few seats left open.
Collective Soul are an American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of lead vocalist Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett. Drummer Johnny Rabb is currently touring with the band.
The band broke into mainstream popularity with their first hit single, "Shine." They have recorded seven Number One rock hits to date.
The set lasted around 90 minutes and went like this, (from the set list on stage)
"Am I Getting Through", "Are You The Answer", "Heavy", "Precious Declaration", "December", "Compliment", "Memories Of 2005", "Gel", "Better Now", "Forgiveness", "She Said", "Reunion", "The World I Know", "Why Pt 2", "Where The River Flows", "Counting The Days", "Hollywood", "Comes Back To You" and two encore songs, "Shine" and "Run".
This was this examiners first time seeing these guys live, I must say they put on a very exciting performance. Lead singer Roland interacts with the audience very well. Most of the fans there sang and danced the entire set. Very impressive.
Collective Soul is a band that you don't want to miss the next time they come our way.
A good time was had by all.
The Silver Legacy Resort & Casino as always, is one of the best places to see a show in Reno. The staff and security are top notch and very friendly. To see what's coming up next, (click here)
