On Saturday March 2, 2013 alternative metal band 10 Years along with Young Guns, Lost Element, The Scarecrow Project and Reno locals, Season on Insanity rocked the Knitting Factory Concert House in downtown Reno. Attendance for this show was pretty good, around four hundred plus metal fans of all ages showed up for this one.
10 Years is an American alternative metal band, formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1999.
Current members include, Jesse Hasek – (lead vocals), Ryan “Tater” Johnson – (guitar, screams) Lewis Cosby – (bass) and Brian Vodinh – (drums, guitar)
The set lasted around 75 minutes and went like this,
"Russian Roulette", "Eleven", "Chasing The Rapture", "Fix Me", "Autumn Effect", "Dancing With The Dead", "Minus The Machine", "Beautiful", "Shoot It Out", 'Fade Into", 'Paralyzing Kings", "Backlash", "Wastelands" and "Colors".
These guys are very good live and give the audience what they want, the crowd was going crazy the entire set.
Opening for 10 Years were rockers, Young Guns.
In this examiners opinion, these guys stole the show and should have been the headliner, but that's just my opinion.
Young Guns are a British rock band from Buckinghamshire and London, UK. On 22 June 2009 they released their debut EP Mirrors, and their debut album All Our Kings Are Dead was released a year later on 12 July 2010.
The success of the album and its singles to date has resulted in magazine covers, the band playing sell-out headline tours, as well as landing high profile support slots with Bon Jovi and Lostprophets. They have also played at many festivals (in both the UK and Europe), culminating in an appearance on the main stage at the Reading Festival, where the band shared a stage with the likes of Guns N' Roses and Queens of the Stone Age. Young Guns released their latest and biggest selling album "Bones" in February of 2012.
Their set lasted only around 45 minutes, (it should have been longer) and went like this,
"Towers" (only way), "Dearly Departed", "Learn My Lesson", "Stitches", "Brother In Arms", "Weight Of The World", and their biggest hit "Bones".
On this night these guys out played all the other bands. This is a band you don't want to miss, very impressive indeed.
Earlier in the day before the show at the Knitting Factory, 10 Years and Young Guns performed an acoustic set at The Musicians Rehearsal Center (MRC). This was a charity event for The Good Shepherds Clothes Closet. $500.00 Dollars was raised. Famous Dave's BBQ catered the event. A special thanks goes to Lotus Radio/KDOT 104.5 and its staff for making this all possible.
Also on the bill were,
Lost Element, from Houston, Texas. Current members include, Trevor Luthy - (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Brian Barrett - (drums), Trace Sisson - (guitar) and Omar Lopez - (bass, vocals).
The Scarecrow Project, all the way from Truckee, CA. Band members include, BooN - (guitar, vocals), Steve - (bass, vocals), Willi Duerr - (lead guitar) and RondoG - (drums, vocals).
And Reno's own, Seasons of Insanity. Current members include, Shane Whitecloud - (vocals), Rick Brenner - (drums), John Brey - (bass), Mike Reynolds - (giutar, backing vocals) and newest member, Jave Patterson - (guitar, backing vocals).
All five bands rocked it. It's shows like this that make RENO ROCK. A great time was had by all.
