Saturday, January 28, 2012, the Tapp's Center for the Arts accomodated some of Columbia's "Who's Who" of fashion at the Follow Your Heart Charity Fashion Gala and Auction. Follow Your Heart (FYH) was the premier kick off event for Columbia Style Week, Columbia, South Carolina's first official multiday fashion event, and it featured local heavyweights, like Nathalie Gregg, author of Leading in Stilletos, Arielle Risposta McConchie, and Dr. Norma Khoury, M.D. The decor was a perfect balance between modern and elegant, and so we're the guests, who all wore red to support the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.
FYH was a party with a purpose. A portion of the night's proceeds and 100% of the auction proceeds benefited the American Heart Association Midlands Chapter. Alicia Zeigler, director of Columbia Style Week, was elated to share that the event was a huge success, also reporting that the evening was completely sold out. In addition, to wine, hors d'oeuvres, and great music provided by Columbia's own DJ Goldfinger, guests enjoyed a fire side chat between Nathalie Gregg and Dr. Norma Khoury, M.D. During this engaging discussion, Dr. Khoury shared information about heart disease, its symptoms and causes, and its effect on the female demographic.
Overall, the event was a success. Attendees experienced a night of fun and, for many, left with a new found understanding of heart disease and the AHA.
