The Ahnu Sugarpine Air Mesh shoe for women is part of the Landscape Collection that features Numentum® Technology and is designed to provide all-day comfort for anyone heading to the trails and wanting to get out into the mountains.

The Numentum Technology , developed and engineered with biomechanics experts, ensures proper foot support throughout your stride on trails. This technology is lightweight, provides advanced forefoot flexibility and offers balance where you need it most. The Numentum Low Profile Hike Technology is built into the Sugarpine Air Mesh shoe and has a 60 durometer EVA midsole for cushioning and optimal shock absorption, 70 durometer EVA postings on both medial and lateral sides for neutral positioning and stability, an integrated TPU shank that provides arch support, mid-foot support and torsional rigidity, 85 durometer shock dispersal plate in forefoot for stone bruising protection, and non-marking slip resistant Vibram® lugs that provide grip and traction on varied terrain. The shoe only weighs 9.9 ounces.

The Sugarpine Air Mesh shoes have a nice, sleek look to them, and the colors are eye-catching and fresh. The breathable mesh helps keep feet cool and cozy. Unlike some shoes that need breaking in before you head out on the trails, these shoes were comfortable right out of the box and ready for some mountain time.

The shoes were super lightweight and breathable. I did like the forefoot flexibility, and they handled all the different terrain beautifully. The cushioning felt very good on my feet, and the shock absorption was very effective. There weren’t any points of pressure in any part of the shoe when going over rocky terrain or hiking downhill on a trail. The shoes hug your feet just enough that they do feel enveloped in protection without abrasion.

I even hiked in the Sugarpine Air Mesh shoes in the snow. Granted they aren’t meant for hiking in the snow and didn’t prevent water from seeping in, but it was a last minute decision during an adventure quest that a group of us were involved in, and we hiked a trail that would usually be a short, snow-free, hike during the summer. Even in thigh deep snow, the shoes were still comfortable despite the fact of being wet.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, lightweight, able-to-handle-varying terrain kind of hiking shoe, the Ahnu Sugarpine Air Mesh shoes will keep your feet happy on the trails. You’ll not only love the comfort and durability of the shoes, but you’ll also love how they look. The vibrant colors are tastefully combined. Try the Sugarpine out. They just might become your new favorite hiking shoe.

The Ahnu Sugarpine Air Mesh shoes are available at Backcountry.com, REI, and through Ahnu’s Web site.
