This is a treat for the Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) fan. This collection allows a person to view the beginning of a twenty year career that has brought us some memorable moments. The Belgian detective created by Agatha Christie had been played by some famous actors but it has been Suchet who has brought Poirot to life for the mystery lover. Poirot has a way of allowing you to view the crime but will let you watch the hunt for the murderer unravel right before your eyes.
This fan collection consists of the 'Murder on the Orient Express', 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas' , 'The Mysterious Affair at Styles', 'The ABC Murders', 'The Adventure of the Egyptian Tomb', and 'Four and Twenty Blackbirds'. Along with Suchet you have Hugh Fraser as Captain Hastings, Phillip Jackson as Chief Inspector Japp, and Pauline Moran playing Miss Lemon.
Suchet has always given us a straight laced version of Poirot that makes us always wanting to come back for more. My favorite of the five has to be 'Murder on the Orient Express' but then that has always been one of my favorites of Agatha Christie's works.
Acorn is bringing this collection of Poirot's mysteries to us on August 5, 2014. The audio is acceptable and the visual is of the same high quality for the DVD set. This is a collection of fan favorites. It might not be your favorite but it is still worth the money to have in your DVD library.
This is one of the better mystery series ever made and David Suchet has perfected the role to fit his character as well as the character of Poirot so that in the end you actually feel Poirot come to life. His twenty year run as the mystery detective makes this a joy to watch and will make you always wanting to come back and watch it over and over.
