Agatha Christie's Marple Fan Favorites Collection

Agatha Christie created a character that has touched all our hearts over the years. When you see Miss Marple on the screen you see your grandmother or a woman of years who should be knitting in a rocking chair rather than going out and solving cases that the police can't even close. She is a mild mannered woman who you would think couldn't hurt a fly. When you look at her you think that she might be a little slow because of her age but what you get in return is a person who has a sharp mind and a superb insight into the human psyche. She outwits the best of the best of those who wish to live as criminals in our society. As I said earlier she takes on the cases that the police can't even close out.

Now with the DVD set you get two Separate Marples. You have one the greats in Geraldine McEwan and newcomer Julia McKenzie. We know McEwan can handle the role but with McKenzie we had to break in a new Miss Marple and to be honest she actually pulls it off.

The set includes the following stories 'The Murder at the Vicarage', 'A Murder is Announced', 'At Bertram's Hotel', 'A Pocket Full of Rye' and 'The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side'. You have some pretty great guest stars for the stories like Derek Jacobi, Hugh Bonneville, Peter Davison, Matthew Macfadyen, and Joanna Lumley.

Acorn is bringing this fan set of Marple favorites to you on August 5, 2014. The DVD set is of the finest quality visually and the audio is as well so that you have entertainment enjoyment. It is up to you to decide if this is going to be part of your DVD library but I must say I'm glad it's part of mine. When you feel like that Sunday afternoon mystery you have it at your fingertips.

It's up to you to decide who is your favorite Miss, Geraldine McEwan or Julia McKenzie, but the fun will be that you have these wonderful shows to make up your mind. So don't think to long and go out next week and get one of the greatest shows that has ever hit the screen.
