As I picked up my little angel from school one of my nails broke. Bella noticed right away, "Mommy, we have to get your nails fixed". With a smile on my face I asked why ? "Because, I can't go to sleep without you scratching my back at night". She insisted that we have a mini girls day and go get our nails done.
We had many errands to run so I thought we would go to Peony Nail Spa in Maple Grove. I had been there once before for a color change. I knew they were fast and that would help keep us on schedule.
When we walked in the door, we were greeted right away with a smile and an open seat. Bella sat down right next to me. There was a young man with spiky hair working on another young ladies nails. Bella smiled and steered at him for awhile. Finally, she worked up the courage to ask him why his hair was spiky & yellow.
He proceeded to tell her that it was his birthday and that it's just for fun. Bella laughed and waited patiently until it was her turn to get her nails done.
When it was her turn to get her nails done, I sat and just watched the two of them talk. Dong was the name of the young man who worked on Bella's nails. He was just wonderful with her. He spoke to her with such care and treated her like a big girl. They sat and talked about school and her friends.
Bella even talked to him about a kid at school who had treated her unkindly. He offered her sage advice in how to deal with the child. "Bella, the best thing you can do in a situation when someone is being mean is to keep your cool & ignore them". Bella said "Why", like all little kids do. Dong, replied "because he is simply trying to get your attention. Once he see's that it won't work, he will stop".
Bella smile and said "OK". It was such a wonderful experience to see my daughter being treated with such care and respect. Many times in the past at other nail salons, Bella sits in silence or her and I talk as they work on her nails. It was refreshing to see someone take such care with her.
It's a level of customer service I wish all places applied. I will most definitively return to Peony Nail Spa. I highly recommend your next mother & daughter day to stop and visit the Peony Nail Spa and ask for Dong.
