The b-Calm Unit is designed for children suffering from challenges and learning disabilities - such as Autism, ADHD, ADD, Down syndrome, etc. Sensory stimuli such as noise, lighting, smells and other environmental factors (which are major causes for distraction and discomfort) can be assisted with the b-Calm units.
It is an MP3 Player that assists to calm your child through listening to sedation soundtracks, such as, nature, ocean...etc. While it blocks out those unwanted noises, your child can still hear accurately what is going on around them being able to complete their task at hand more efficiently when their teacher provides instruction. It is simulated to that "fan" that many people keep in their bed rooms for white noise (even in the winter months) to help them block out all the other noise around them, and helps them maintain that peaceful/calm state of mind.
Recently the b-Calm Pro Unit was reviewed by an elementary student in Massachusetts within his classroom. His mother said, "He loves the b-Calm Pro Unit and uses it daily at school, in fact he can't wait to put it on first thing in the morning when he returns!" Her child said, "Mom, I really love this, it helps me to listen better when the teacher is talking to us." His teacher provided rave reviews as well.
The b-Calm Units are available in two types; assisting in different ways. The Pro Unit has the sedation soundtracks as well as multiple photos that help to achieve what your child should be doing at scheduled times/moments, being able to group photos together helps your child/children learn to organize their day as well as "switching gears"; an excellent source in providing that step-by-step approach. The GP Unit has the sedation soundtracks, but does not include photos (This unit may be beneficial if your ADHD/special needs child has extreme difficulty with self control, as they won't feel that need to fidget with the controls, accessing the photos while their teacher is speaking thus causing disruption to themselves/others). Both units provide that needed awareness throughout the day, excellent tools with assisting ADHD, and various other special needs that parents/children are seeking!
